In order to achieve the best possible quality and prices, the company buy in bulk from all major supply sources. The head office at Ladywell Mills in Bradford cover some 165,000 square feet which are fully utilised with individual fibres stored in separate locations within the mill. Typically the company handle over 1200 bales per week and our own loading facilities ensure all goods leave on time.

Even in our "high tech" environment, the basics are still performed to the highest standards. All the sorting of raw materials is carried out by a team of six sorters each of whom have a lifetime's experience. There are separate sorting rooms for mohair, cashmere, camel hair and wool. The average throughput per week is 70/80,000 kgs.

Since 1972 the company has developed its own dehairing machinery for cashmere, camel hair and yak hair. There are now three separate plants, one for white cashmere, one for coloured cashmere and one for camel hair. Constant developments in our technology have kept the company at the forefront of the industry, enabling sales and deliveries to be performed with confidence.

The sample room at Ladywell Mills is referred to as the "engine room", as this is where the "real" business takes place. There are over 1000 different types of all the various fibres and the company prides itself on its ability and willingness to make special individual qualities for individual customers. An order for 10kg is given the same detailed care and attention as one for 1000kg. Our team of eight salesmen who all speak foreign languages, are constantly looking for new offers and new ideas. Their customer is of paramount importance.

All our customers demand the highest possible quality standards, this means the most up to date laboratory testing equipment. Production lots are tested daily for micron, length, hair content, impurity and condition. On the purchasing side, lot samples are drawn at origin by Seal staff and sent to the head office for testing and quality approval. Each lot is measured against set parameters and this data together with the knowledge and practical experience of our buyers form the basis of every purchase.
